Many years ago I was part of the annual cleanup here and became disenchanted with the event as we could not get anyone to discuss mitigation. Recently we have had some conversations on this subject and maybe there is some traction. This ties in well with the efforts the RiverKeepers have taken this past year with natural booms and planning to install some manufactured trash booms to stop the constant flow of trash into our waterways. Let’s see how this all pans out! Come On Spring!!!!
Part 2 of our visit to Summit Lake on Feb 4, 2024. Though most of our attention the past year has been spent focused on the Tuscarawas and it’s tributaries, (and continues to be) the past few weeks we have been coordinating with Julie-Ann on some mitigation efforts in light of the upcoming Summit Lake Cleanup. This has been near and dear to my heart personally and am excited that with new administrations, there seems to be some honest interest!
